The Honest Walk with Christ

The Honest Walk with Christ

Let’s be real — walking with Jesus isn’t always mountaintops and glory clouds. Sometimes it’s fire, tears, silence, and the hard decision to open your Bible even when you don’t feel like it.

There are seasons when I’m on fire for Jesus — I’m talking hours of sermons, nonstop worship, deep prayer, and constant revelation. My heart feels full, my spirit feels strong, and every second feels like “Jesus, Jesus, Jesus.” I feel unstoppable in my faith.

But then... there are the other seasons.

The tired ones. The distracted ones. The dry, quiet, wrestle-with-yourself ones.
Where temptation creeps in louder.
Where shame tries to paralyze.
Where church feels like a chore, prayer feels distant, and reading your Bible feels more like a battle than a blessing.

Yeah. Those seasons.

But you know what I’ve learned? Even in those down moments, I can still choose Him.
Even if it’s just a whisper of a prayer.
Even if it’s just reading one verse.
Even if all I can manage is saying “God, help me” and nothing more.

That intention — that tiny mustard seed of effort — matters to God.
Because when you read His Word and truly understand His heart, you realize something freeing: He’s not watching you to catch you slipping. He’s watching you because He loves you.

He knows we’ll miss the mark. He knows we’ll have dry seasons, mess-ups, and moments we feel far from Him. But what does He want from us? To keep seeking Him. To keep showing up. To keep being honest.

Because shame? That’s not from God — that’s straight from the enemy.
Shame isolates. Grace restores.
God isn’t looking for perfect. He’s looking for present.
And when we’re present, even in our mess, He draws near.

Jesus says He will leave the 99 to go after the one. So even if you feel like “the one” — lost, off track, too far gone — guess what? He’s coming for you. He’s not mad at you. He’s not disappointed. He’s ready to welcome you with open arms — again and again.

So if you’re in a low right now, be encouraged:
You’re not too far.
You’re not disqualified.
You’re not alone.

Keep seeking. Keep talking to Him. Keep opening your Bible, even if it’s just one verse.
God sees you. And He’s holding your hand through every high and every valley.
